“the aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance”
My creative artistic journey continues to evolve into spaces and travel down avenues I would have never imagined. I am continually learning how the art of being still, letting go of expectations and wandering through unknown paths can take me to places that not only inspire me, but nourish me, challenge me. Growing as an artist takes enormous courage… courage to be different from the rest, to be true to self, to travel along a singular road until it forks or widens, opening up to expansive opportunities. We as artists can be inpatient and it is that very impatience which stifles our creative process and blinds us to what lies ahead. To seek patience is a courageous act; to not force the process, stop pushing so hard; instead slow breath, see through the pain, feel through the dark. I have developed a practice of patience - and yet it still remains a challenge. However, the rewards of patience have led me to clearly see how I am at my best when I allow a complete sense of my authenticity to be lived. No longer segmenting pieces of me away to try to fit into a particular world, I get to be all of my parts at once. Here you will find my art, my creativity and soon I will be introducing a new additional website that blends science of wellness and art. Two areas that I am passionate about which are often separated and thought to not overlap, and yet it is when wellness and art coexist within each others space, wellness and art are enhanced.
New works of art are being created for my exhibit titled “Stories”
for the 2025 Boneyard Arts Festival, Champaign Illinois
Stories arise from the crevices of our soul where seeds are planted from the experience lived… a touch, a glance, the whisper of our intuition - the vision, the fragrance, the taste of tears. Each seed awaiting to become more, to grow upward and outward filling empty spaces within us. Our Stories become our lifeline to the future and our attachment to our past - as we gather each intricacy along our path we create our inner world - these Stories fill our experiential library becoming interconnected to our emotional and physical beings; inseparables once experienced. Stories are to be felt, flowing through our veins, thumping, pounding, screaming to get out if buried deep and ignored. We are our story, the amazingly beautiful and powerful rendition of our sacred self.
“Stories” is a series of acrylic on handmade Japanese paper representing parts of her. The artist expresses her innermost story through color, movement and depth. Each stroke of the brush symbolizes anguish, stillness, desire, love and kindness, held together as they dance with and beside one another creating a coexistence with balance and grace.
